GoSolar Newcastle grew out of Solahart Lake Macquarie that had been in business for over 35 years in 2011.
Solahart Lake Macquarie, at that stage, only sold and installed the Solahart range of solar hot water systems and had thousands of customers in the Hunter from Gosford to Nelson Bay.

By 2011 solar panels or PV sales were increasing dramatically with the introduction of a $0.60 gross feed in tariff in New South Wales, so in discussion with my son we decided to buy the local Solahart business and expand its product range to include the new found enthusiasm for solar panels.
Because the demand was so strong for solar panels, we made the decision to change the company name from Solahart Lake Macquarie to GoSolar Newcastle. A more descriptive & accurate name to go forward with into the future.
We have incorporated all our customers from the 1980s till now into our database to offer 5 year solar hot water services and upgrading/expanding any older systems customers may have.
Meet our Founders
Lindsay Parker
Originally from Brisbane then Taree Lindsay moved to Newcastle in 1988 just in time for the earthquake. He was involved with Hamilton Chamber of Commerce rebuilding Beaumont St during 90s.
He’s only ever been involved running small family businesses with so GoSolar Newcastle being his latest venture from 2010 onwards.
Mark Parker
Born and raised in Taree, enjoying holiday times on my Grandparents Dairy Farm.
Moved to Newcastle for my High School years whilst working in family businesses since the age of 14.
Enjoy spending weekends with my family boating, camping and fishing.

AC – Enhanced Safety
Up until 2013 we installed the common DC string PV systems with a centralised inverter, but as DC isolator roof fires became a problem and still currently causing issues, we looked for alternatives.
An American micro inverter company called Enphase introduced a revolutionary AC inverter to eliminate the high voltage (600V+) DC systems and also offered other benefits, including no single point of failure, no cross degradation and down to the panel level monitoring. Eliminating all the major flaws of the old and cheap DC string Inverter technology.
Since that time we have exclusively installed Enphase’s AC micro inverters and gained several awards from Enphase, for customer service and are now rated a Platinum installer, the highest status achievable.

Excess Solar energy storage
Battery Storage
In September 2016 Enphase introduced their battery product to store excess energy from solar to be used later in day when solar production is dropping.
Solar power Newcastle is growing rapidly with the availability of quality storage batteries. Currently we have over 725 battery installations in the Hunter and most customers eagerly awaiting the new version due later this year to take advantage of new capacities and functions.

New Products
The introduction of a new version IQ8 in the next few months will be a major improvement in inverter technology as it allows solar production during grid outages including blackouts to run priority circuits to protect the home. The only inverter capable of doing this in the world at present.
Going forward we have new products coming next year like bi-directional EV chargers, enabling households to run their homes from excess energy stored in their EV or charge the same vehicle from excess energy produced from your solar system, as well as a few other products that we are currently working on in the background.
